Matt Smith, a 1994 graduate of the John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science, has embalmed nearly 9,000 cases and embalms for 15 funeral homes in his local area. He guest speaks at the Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science and trains student embalmers. His scope, however, is far broader than local. He is seeking to share his experience with embalmers and students everywhere.

Dear Matt,
Just a quick note to thank you for the sample fluids that you shipped to me. I look forward to using them. Hope that doesn't sound morbid. I also want to mention that I completely enjoyed your presentation. You have a great talent for presenting and provided some very useful tips. Thank you.

I have attended seminars conducted by Matt Smith before but just recently had the opportunity to have Mr. Smith visit my location and provide our embalming staff with a private workshop. Mr. Smith’s talent and dedication to our profession is very evident and the information he provided us with will certainly improve the level of care we provide to our client families. We look forward to working with Mr. Smith again in the future.

Matt's seminar was a refreshing and thought provoking experience for all embalmers. I have made a career of steady improvement of my skills through continual search of time tested procedures and thinking my way through the toughest cases. Matt brings that sincere dedication to his seminar and is passionate about the care and preparation of the deceased. We are fortunate he has chosen to share his expertise with the embalmers of this country! Thanks Matt!

As a close and personal friend, Matt is enlightening many embalmers on how to maximize their embalming skills by offering tried and true professional techniques. Matt's seminars not only enlighten other embalmers, but I also consider many of his techniques and methods positively revolutionary. As what I term a "progressive" embalmer offering "progressive" techniques, I'm sure Matt's seminars have helped many, many embalmers maximize their potential. Keep up the good work Matt!

I highly recommend Matt Smith as an Embalmer, Funeral Director and Guest Lecturer. I personally have had the distinct pleasure to work with him side by side, listen to his lecture as well as learn from him. He never settles for anything less than the best results and sincerely is an asset to funeral service as a whole by combining expertise, ethics and professionalism . The embalming seminars are invaluable to the funeral director and embalmer.

I would recommend Matt Smith to any embalmer who wishes to learn some new awesome techniques. I learned alot of great things with Matt. Matt taught me better ways to do things as well as some of his own ways to handle difficult cases. It was a fun and beneficial experience. If your serious about embalming and caring for the deceased book Matt or go to one of his seminars. During my seven years in this business I have honestly never seen a more passionate person nor have I met anyone who can prepare a decedent like Matt Smith.
